time & memory.

Time and memory are two concepts I've always been fascinated with and interested in. The experience of time when creating is something very hard to explain to non creatives. It feels like experiencing two speeds at once, fast and slow, or forward and reverse. It's been said the only time we ever have is now, and sometimes I wonder if instead of time being linear or circular, that perhaps it's a sphere. Something that is always there, and our sense of time being nothing more than the illusion created each time we turn towards a different direction in this sphere, vis a vis - degrees of past or future.

I also wonder if our memories are no different than a flicker reel akin to scrolling through a phone camera library at high speed. Memories are perhaps one of the most intangible things we all have in common and experience. Some memories may be stronger than others, but over the course of life they are the only truly tangible thing we end up having. Some of them we get to share with other people, and some of them we exclusively experience within ourselves. What time or memories really are, these things don't seem to have any true answers, but I feel them most at work in my creative life.
